New Integrated Behavioral Health System will allow single venue for patient case management and reporting

Special Services for Groups and University Muslim Medical Association begin pilot program to help provide more coordinated patient care for those in greatest need.

Reno, NV: Trans World Health Services today announced that Special Service for Groups, a behavioral healthcare provider, and University Muslim Medical Association Community Clinic, a federally qualified medical health center, are now using Trans World’s new Integrated Behavioral Health System, which enables both care providers to case manage the same patient seamlessly for behavioral and medical problems.

Stephen Kay, CEO of Trans World, stated:

"This system will enable both healthcare providers to work with the same patient and share the progress of their care. The platform will then enable the two organizations to trial innovative combinations of behavioral health and chronic medical care therapies and present those results in a combined dashboard setting with multiple filter and drill down options. Because of Trans World’s fast prototyping technology platform, we were able to go live on this product within six weeks of the start of the project."

The system is a new module of the Health Center Accelerator™ that allows both data entry and integration of existing data from multiple service providers. This allows a single venue for case management and reporting capability for both mental health and medical health tracking by the separate organizations. The system was devised and created in response to the Department of Mental Health of Los Angeles’ requirements for an innovative technical component in the award to the clinic and Special Service for Groups to provide a combined service offering to the African American population that require, but are not currently receiving, both kinds of care in a coordinated manner.

The module, which will be used under the award for a minimum of three years, tracks and identifies successful trends in the coordination of care and treatment protocols that can consistently identify positive outcomes. As a pilot programs, these protocols and outcomes will then be published in order to help identify the most advantageous and cost-effective approach to providing coordinated care that improves the well being of the patients designated by this program.
